Last week I got my 20 Eye Derby boot (S20-20-BK-G-100) delivered and I am really impressed by its appearance and quality. They are as I have expected, because three years ago I have already ordered the 20 Eye Boot with a zip. Back then I could not find a version without a zip and I was pleased to discover the non-zip variant this year. I use the 20 Eye Derby boots for urban and rural motorcycling (but not the grand tour) on warm or hot summer days and they perfectly fit with plain chino trousers. Unfortunately, the upper edge of the non-zip variant does not have an extra liner compared to the zip variant - so the zip variant looks a bit finer regarding its finish. However, in my opinion finish and durability are on a high level for both non-zip and zip variant. After a quick break-in they are very comfortable for both motorcycling and walking... and these boots are real eye-turners! As a useful side effect there is effective air ventilation through the lacing and tongue while motorcycling. In summary they are comfortable, functional and impressive eye-turning boots. Thank you for these outstanding boots!

Talking about their quality is a bit obvious as anyone who knows Solovair products knows they are good. Simple as that. These boots are no exeption, and yes 200 quid is a lot of money, but the moment you consider that YOU want a pair day's pay for a fair day's work, too, you might realize that you are buying more than a pair of nice quality boots. You are doing what a decent person does - treating others like you want to be treated yourself. That's the one thing that unites the Solovair customers around the globe.
Now, 20 eyelet and not a punk? Or a fetish person? Really? Yes, really.
If you are a bit skinny round your ankles you have sooner or later realized it - 8-eyelet boots just will never be snug and supportive round your ankles. So you literally upgrade to 11, 14 or 20 eyelet boots - and you will never look back.
It took me a while to go for 20 eyelets which was quite silly really, as they are ever so comfortable. A second skin, that is what they will in the end be. Quality leather, nice and shiny, thick and soft, yes, soft considering how hard boots can be during the breaking-in process, which I was scared of to be sure. Reality was an anti-climax, put them on, lace them up, walk around and wear them as long as you are comfortable. Repeat the process over the next few days and hey, presto!, you are ready to wear your boots for as long as you wish. No hassle, no worries, no blood. Lacing up takes a little longer but it is a matter of practice as are most things.
